A small piece of Salmonopolis exists today. The Britannia Heritage Shipyard in Steveston BC continues to thrive as a national historic site. It is a time capsule of the first melting pot of peoples and cultures who planted roots to forge what it presently Steveston. its canneries competed with each other and for nearly a century was Canada's largest fishing port. The Boardwalk lives on quietly with the spirit of the once booming fast paced life that the Britannia Heritage Shipyard had overseen, as a cannery first and then as a haven for the leaky fishing boats of cannery row.
The Traditions of maintaining boats at the Britannia Heritage Shipyard continues as shop training programs are available for active volunteers and society members. The general public can come and see the restoration of ships from the bygone eras of the 20's, 30's and 40's within the shipyard.
