My little girl today was so adorable

Oh, my little girl today was so adorable. She sat so quietly under my feet while I worked on the lathe.

She picked up the curls of brass that fell down as I worked, then she made little dolls of wood with beautiful golden curls. She wants to add them to her collection – she's already got dolls with grey hair from when I was working with steel. Old dolls and young dolls.

Better she's under my feet quietly making dolls than outside on the dock where she might fall in the water and drown. Sometimes I worry about her – it's an isolated life for a little girl.

I'll be happier when she's old enough to go to school and spend more time with other children.
